Anyway, being first again on the last leg Brendon & Rachel are also the first to leave the Piazza Del Duomo Pit Stop in Rome, Italy at 6:13am. They grab their clue and it looks like everybody is off via train to Chiasso, Switzerland where they will then drive to Altdorf to locate the towns most famous resident, William Tell. Jet & Cord are over an hour behind at 7:23, followed by Leo & Jamal, Dave & Connor and Caroline & Jennifer. Dave is still whining about being U-Turned and the CountrySingers are offended that Brendon & Rachel would ever do such a thing. Really?
Brendon & Rachel get their tickets and get on the train and haven't seen any other teams so far. The cowboys managed to take a wrong turn somewhere while the others all managed to get to the train to join Brendon & Rachel. Those three teams all sit together and bad mouth the newlyweds, poorly impersonating Rachel and then declaring their final three alliance. Unfortunately, Jet & Cord have missed the train, and the drama, entirely.
Everyone else arrives in the town of Altdorf during some sort of evening celebration and the accidental alliance are the first to locate the statue of William Tell, only to find they have to wait until sunrise. Well that levels the ground for the cowboys who showed up in the middle of the night. Brendon & Rachel had a bit of a problem finding the statue in the crowd but the locals managed to point them in the right direction.
Everyone gets their clue and Brendon & Rachel are off immediately to drive to Lucerne and locate the Chapel Bridge. Unfortunately they overshot it and found the Spreuer Bridge instead, which allowed the alliance to get the next clue and then race off before they're seen. When Brendon & Rachel realize their mistake Brendon starts to panic but it's still early in the leg.
The next clue leads the alliance to the Schwiezerhof Hotel where they need to dress up as hotel staff, pick a rock star's trashed room and clean it to perfection before they get their next clue. The rooms are a serious mess so Dave & Connor locate the example room right away to see how it's supposed to look.
Jet hopes his wife isn't watching because she'll think he knows how to clean and that's the last thing he wants. Brendon & Rachel finally arrive at the hotel so the others don't have that big of a lead. Jet & Cord call for a room check, but they failed. Back to the example room. None of the alliance passes and Jet & Cord failed their second attempt, . . . as did the other teams.
Oddly enough, we discover that Rachel was a maid for four years so she knows the routine, but Jet & Cord are still the first to get approval. Then Dave & Connor, Leo & Jamal, and Caroline & Jennifer, and they're all out of there with the next clue.
Jet & Cord are the first to make their way to the Swiss Museum of Transport and the Dig A Little Deeper task, where they need to locate an artifact and determine what it was used for. It's a giant drill bit and Jet knew what it was immediately, so he and Cord are off to the Ford Commercial task. Use the road signs on the buildings and the formula on your clue to calculate the year of your classic Mustang.
Back at the artifact Leo & Jamal thought it was a measuring tool, but Dave, who used to work as a miner, informs them and the girls that it's actually a tunnel drill, and they're all off to the Mustangs. Meanwhile, Brendon & Rachel get their room approved and when they get to the artifact, Rachel thinks it's a giant carburetor. Apparently she's never opened a hood.
Jet & Cord get the Mustang clue and they're off, followed right behind by Dave & Connor. Brendon asks a local what the artifact is and they manage to catch up to the others at the Mustangs, which upsets the CountrySingers for some reason. Why is anyone's guess because they've never done anything to them, or Leo & Jamal for that matter.
Speaking of which, Leo & Jamal get the year of their Mustang and their next clue but they decide to go back to help the girls. Nice, but stupid. Again, I'm not sure why they'd rather be in the final four with the CountrySingers but apparently they've been swayed by Dave & Connors constant whining. There is no way that Wayne and I would have done that. No matter, Brendon & Rachel made short work of that task and were on their way.
Jet & Cord and Dave & Connor arrive together in Wolfenschiessen at this leg's Roadblock, one team member gets to choose a dog and cart and then deliver two empty containers to a dairy farm and exchange them for full ones. Easy enough, even though you need to get there via gondola because the dairy farms are way up on the mountain. Connor goes for his team, while Cord goes for the cowboys.
The other three teams arrive at the same time. Caroline takes a bad spill on the ice at the start of the task, while Leo and Brendon head uphill with their canisters. Connor has just found out that those full containers are a lot heavier than the empty ones. He switches places with Brendon and then complains about Brendon having the nerve to right on the glass. Stop your whining kid.
Connor was in the lead with his dog and containers until Cord and his dog passed him to get the next clue which tells them to drive themselves to the town of Engelberg and make their way to the Pit Stop atop Mount Titlis where the final team to arrive may be eliminated. Somehow, Dave & Connor made it to the gondolas first, with the cowboys on the next gondola, and then the Afghanimals on the third. However, upon exiting the first gondola Dave & Connor have found out their not at the top yet and meet the Cowboys at the next gondola up, . . . where they also get spotted by Leo & Jamal. Game on.
They're all watching for Phil as they ascend the mountain and it's time for a foot race as the three lead teams exit the gondola in search of Phil and the Pit Stop. Dave & Connor are sure they're last but somehow they make the right turn and are Team Number 1 and also win a pair of matching 2015 Ford Mustangs. I guess whining works. Jet & Cord are Team Number 2, and Leo & Jamal are right behind as Team Number 3.
Brendon & Rachel have left the girls behind and are Team Number 4. Phil mentions how they seem to be running their own race and Brendon says they have no idea why everyone is so against them. Cue sad music for the CountrySingers as Caroline & Jennifer are unfortunately Team Number 5, . . . but it's another non-elimination leg. They're awfully happy about that but eventually their alliance is going to get tired of dragging them along and they'll be gone.
Next week it looks like there'll be some fun bull impersonating, some delicate balloon shaving and another U-Turn that the Afghanimals seem to get to first. Well there's a change of events for the boys but why do I get the feeling it'll be a continuation of the "We Hate Rachel" show? I hope not but with four teams against them there's going to be a hard couple of legs ahead for them.
Hope you enjoyed the review and keep an eye out for our video sometime on Monday. For those who follow it, I should be back here on Wednesday for my Survivor review, but otherwise I'll see you all again next Sunday, when I'll be doing my review from the road. See you then.
